I've owned a Sherline Mill and a Sherline Lathe for a couple of years
and have enjoyed their value for money and versatility for the sort
of experimental engineering I'm interested in. By chance, I now have
the chance to buy a Boxford CNC lathe, TCL160 at a good price. I
understand that this is aimed at the educational market. I would
prefer to start with a CNC mill and could buy a good retrofit kit for
the Sherline for about the same price as the Boxford. But the latter
certainly looks a well built unit, and comes with alot of features
and learning aids. I would be interested in the lists view on this
type of machine as an entry into home CNC.
