The, "CMOS Cookbook", and, "TTL Cookbook", by Don Lancaster have a wealth of
information about timer-counter circuits, and display drivers. Both have mini
catalogs of CMOS/TTL chips, their pin-outs, usage data, power requirements, and
more. He's also got some high powered web resources, but I can't recall the
site name(s) off hand. Tinaha something, I think.
