EDM/DRO

I've been off-board for 6-months, more or less, and was wondering if
anything new in the way of EDM or DRO discussions have occurred. I have
looked thru the FAQ and the links sections (some dead links) and haven't
found anything new.

Other than Dan Mauch's sinker and wire EDM plans, are there any more
plans out there for home constructors. I know about the ones serialized
in HSM and Model Engineer.

On Dros, I only see Hans Wiedemeyer's and Tom Kulaga's sites. I can add
Scott Shumate's site too http://www.shumatech.com/ Scott has a system
using Chinese scales that you can find on eBay or at JTS and probably
other places. So are there any other designs out there that have been
discussed? I'm interested in those that use quadrature encoders and
the US Digital encoder strips.

Also, it looks like Steve Lindsey
http://www.lindsayengraving.com/other_interests/dro.html has the only
quadrature reading software listed on the links. Anything, new in this
regard?

Anyway, I tried to do my homework before asking these questions, but it
is pretty easy to miss things, especially if they are embedded in other
discussions. I'd appreciate an update if anyone has anything.
