If you have a bind you need to find what is causing it and elimiate the
problem. Is it possible you have the preload on the ball bearings in the
motor mount too tight? It would have to be pretty darn tight to cause a
bind, but that is one area to look at.

Once you have the bind eliminated, you can then take care of the screw
and coupler coming loose. I have found that the problem tends to be more
with the coupler spinning on the screw at the taper and that allowing
the screw pressing the taper together to then turn loose. What has
worked the best for me is to put just a tiny amount of Locktite stud and
bearing mount on the taper of the screw and then put the coupler on. Be
careful to not get any on the screw or you will never get it out.
