motor size for 10" rotary table?

I need suggestions on the size of motor (either stepper or servo)
that would be appropriate for a 10" rotary table I am converting to
cnc for a fourth axis on my mill. The table is worm gear driven with
a 90:1 ratio. How fast can you drive the worm gear? Would a 3600
rpm motor making the table go 40rpm be insane? If you can go this
fast without damage, then a servo motor seems to make more sense. I
would guess I need something in the 100-150 oz-in cont. torque range,
but maybe that is overkill. If I went stepper, would a nema 23 motor
at 200oz-in holding torque be enough?

Thanks,

Rick
