Steve

When you try out the machine before you part with your cash, make sure that
you can move each axis via the front control panel and run the spindle up to
speed, if you encounter any problems here then it could cost you dear, i bought
a Starmill a few years back and mine came with the software on 3 1/2 disks
plus a dongle for a PC, after weeks of trying to get the thing to run from a PC i
gave up and made a new control board which replaces the existing SMCU within
the cabinet, this board accepts step and direction signals via the parallel
port of a PC or laptop, at the moment i'm converting my third machine for a
gentleman in Cheltenham and i've also been asked to convert a Starturn to PC
control, if you would like details of the conversion set drop me an e-mail off
group.
