Its probably not doable, due to the fact that it would have to be installed in a
3 sided slide mount of some sort, in order to give it a mesure of solidity. The
idea is not totally withouit merit, though. If one had a central lead screw, it
could be protected by a similar setup, with. "telescoping", half-round sheets,
pulled out from, or pushed back towards, the ends of the lead screw. Of course
this would only work with the heavy stuff, not fine sawdust, etc., which gets
blown into everything, everywhere.
