Yes, something I had not considered the ONE time I built that huge X-Y Table.
I am pretty sure that if I ever did another, I'd investigate rotating the
nut instead.

The Ball Screw catalog gives info about the "whip" and the dia. the screw
must be for various lengths for various RPM of screw, etc. It is a rather
involved matter, actually! But rotating the nut instead would solve this problem,
assuming the [ball-nut] was such that it COULD be rotated without sending balls
into earth-orbit! Jan Rowland
