Limit switch problems

Hi everyone,

Need some suggestions on this problem.

My X and Y limt switches were working fine. When I went to set up
the Z axis it worked at the very beginning with the limit switch
wired up.
I then decided to test it by disconnecting the limit switch and just
by joining the ground and power wire together, this also worked.

After altering the "debounce" setting in Yeagar CNCPRO,the stepper
motor run up to the Z axis limit switch and would not
debounce......now for some reason all the 3 axis's do not work at
all.
Have checked the obvious like 5 volt power, good ground, changed to
another computer (thought I may have stuffed the parallel port on
the main board), reinstalled CNCPRO.

Am using 10k resistors as per CNCPRO instructions.

Any ideas out there.
