Hi Boris
Need to know how fast you need to get to 30 cm/sec.
That is acceleration, and basically determines how
tight a corner you can turn.
accel= velocity squared/turning radius.
(actually a vector sum of two axes in 2d)
Also need to know how long the leadscrew is since it's
effective inertia is often as much or more than a light
axis mass.
Also need some idea of friction... is it ballscrews and ways
or sliding type?

Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] calculation of motor torque
Hello!
Somebody have formula to calculate approximately how much torque must have
stepper motor to drive the router with 10mm/turn (or 20mm/turn) lead screw
and to get speed around 30cm/second and the weight of moving arch over table
will be around 15kg. Is it possible to do this with steppers or I must use
servo motors.
Thanks for your answers!
Boris
