  On my 10HP motor, I couldn't spin it fast enough by hand (or foot) to get it
going; I had to tie a rope around the shaft and pull to get it going fast enough,
then apply 220VAC to two of the phases. After about 5 seconds, it was spinning
smoothly, and then I could connect the 3 HP 3 phase motor on my mill to the
3 phases.
