hi all,
I just took my digital caliper apart it is very simple in design but I am
not sure how it works completely. This may be the cheapest DRO if you can
make them. The circuit board had a single CPU chip under epoxy. The sensor
area was very small through holes
drilled at step intervals 4 high each hole connected to a small strip of
copper on other side. There was many of these holes about 1 in. Under the
label of the caliper where the markings are for units there is a square wave
pattern (probably magnetic) .1" unit with a line pattern dividing this in
half above the square.
Looks like it also has a serial output.
Anybody have software to communicate with the caliper?
