Servo motor keeps running. (urgent help required)

So I got the Campbell breakout board the Gecko 320, a demo version of Mach2,
new encoders which I attached to my servo motor, the encoders draw 120 mA so
I got them an external power supply DC 5V, did all the wiring, and turned
the 80V DC supply, but the motors keep running and does not stop.
I'll explain the exact steps I did:
- Connected ERR/RES (term 5) to Enc+ (term 7)
- Connected phase A, and phase B of the encoder to the Gecko.
- Wired the +5VDC and the ground from external supply to the encoders.
- Connected a 670 ohm resistor from term 6 to term 7 on the Gecko.
- Connected the step & dir and the +5VDC from breakout board to Gecko.
- Connected the motor Arm+ and Arm-, and connected the 80 VDC power supply.
I then turned Mach2, and configured X axis only, turned the power supply on,
the motor began to move and did not stop, I then tried to jog the axis from
Mach2, I noticed that the motor breaks but the gecko fault lamp turn on and
then goes out repeatedly, same thing happened when jogging in the opposite
direction, the motor breaks and the Gecko faults repeatedly but the motor
keeps turning in the opposite direction and won't stop.
What could I be missing???
I also noticed that the step lead on the breakout board is always on for the
x axis even when I do not press the jogging key, and the direction lead is
always on when jogging in one direction and goes off in the other direction,
is this normal, or should the lead goes off after I release the jogging
key???
Do you think it's a problem with configuring Mach2, or is there something in
the wiring???
Please help.
Best regards,
Mina F.
