You can use the 10 Horsepower inverter without any problem. True, it is
better to match the inverter as closely as possible with the motor but 2.5 HP more
isn't going to hurt. Just be sure to set the paramaters/functions (whichever
the inverter mfr. calls them) so that the current level is set for the 7.5
and not for the 10.
