Wally,
I have converted my series I Bridgeport using 900 oz in brushless
DC Kollmorgen motors run by WorldServo SST 1500 amps. I'm using 2:1
ratio belt drive on X and Y axis with HIWIN precision ballscrews. Z
axis is 1:1 using a custom ballscrew, much like the Elrod machine
quill drive but much cheaper.
