Subject: DRO cables
The consensus is that soldering the leads directly to the scales is
by far the best solution. There is a pin header and matching plug at
Digikey that works perfectly. This allows you to solder on the
header, then plug into the header. This gives a "break away"
connection for those times your X axis motion exceeds your X axis
cable's length!
The commercial scale cables are known to come off.
