I'm not a Linux user, but but I can comment on DOS and WIndows XP. To
dual boot with DOS and Windows XP follows these steps.
1. Boot from the DOS 6.0 - 6.22 Setup disk. Once the install screen
comes up press F3 to exit the install. This will put you at the
command prompt A:\.
2. Run FDISK and delete all DOS and Non-DOS partitions.
3. Delete Logical DOS drives.
4. Create a primary DOS partition. Depending on your BIOS you may be
only able to create an appx. 500MB partition. If you want more
disk space create an extended DOS partition(be sure to leave
unpartitioned space on the drive for Windows). It will prompt you to
format the drives.
5. Reboot and start the DOS install.
THEN
6. Install Windows XP.
7. When the install starts, it will show the DOS partitions and any
unpartitioned space you have left. Create a new partition on the
unpartitioned space(I recommend NTFS). Install windows XP to this
partition.
8. You will now have a selection on bootup to choose DOS or Windows
XP.
REMEMBER: You cannot access NTFS partitions from within DOS.
Hope this helps,
Dan
