I am building a power supply based on "jerry's power supply .pdf" i
have a question. the center tap wire (yellow) is not mentioned in the
file, so i assume it is just left out and insulated? can anyone
confirm this? also, can anyone reccomend the appropriate soft start
feature? I was wondering if i could just put a light dimmer switch
in line on the power cord and turn it up slowly to avoid stressing
the components. i don't know if this would even be necessary. also,
what about a shunt regulator? i am running nema 42 servo drives on a
larger machine (shizouka cnc) and am worried about power spikes on
deceleration. Am i just being paranoid? would love to here from
anyone else who has used this power supply. i have it mostly wired,
but am too chicken to throw the switch until i double check it's
right! i have my kitchen table buried in electronics, and will be
taking some pictures of the process as i go along to post here.
thanks for all your help guys!
