it depends on the machine (you don't say), what parts you are trying to
move (you don't say) and whether you have ballscrews or Acme.

If you are moving the quill of a Bridgeport for Z, that should be the
smallest motor. If you are moving the knee of the same type machine for
Z, that is going to need the BIGGEST motor.

You need to tell us more about the machine, and the motors for anyone
to be much help.
