Is your "2x12v" power supply a supply with 2 separate 12v outputs? And are
you using it for anything else, or can you dedicate it to the turntable?
If the answer to both questions is Yes(it DOES have 2 separate 12V outputs,
AND you can dedicate it to the turntable), then you can hook it up with the
"+" of the first supply connected to the "-" of the second supply, and you
will have a 24V supply(and 2 12V supplies. Just use the 24V(between "-" of
the 1st supply and "+" of the second supply) for the brake, and then use one
of the 12v supplies for the gear head. this assumes that there is no
"common" connection between the gear head and the brake; even then, it
_could_ work if you do it right.
This may help explain what I just TRIED to say:
---------(-)brake(+)------------------

|--(-)gear head(+)--| |

|--(-)P.S.#1(+)-----|--(-)P.S.#2(+)--|

Hello, just purchased a turntable for my cnc.. And I already have a 2x
12v
output power supply. but this turntable table:
http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=search&item=
DCM-178&type=store
requires 24v to unlock the brake, and 12v to move the gear head.. what
would
you'll suggest doing to power this? (I am not not versed in power
supplies..
as far as building one, so any inexpensive solutions?)
thanks-Lee
