Hello,
Notice the cutout area near the "flat" part of the back side of the
turntable? (It has a couple of small threaded holes around it)
Turn the table and watch the gear through this "window" area...
At one point you will see two raised rivet heads come into view.
These are the actuators for the switches that originally were mounted
in the window area, and for which the threaded holes exist. A submini
roller lever switch fits perfectly. You have to arrange a mount for
it. I've done it, but can't share the details, so you're on your own
there...
But this is how you get a home switch(or 2) with that unit.

P.S. The encoder is really a tach, and will only serve for feedback
to a speed control circuit. It has no direction capability.
