Hi Dave,
Pic's sent to you off-list.
Les and others are right. The ER16 collet-chuck will be hardened (mine were)
and it will be hard do any machining on it. That's why i used rings on the
shaft to hold the bearings in place. A machinist at work helped with the
housing, it's turned to Ø43mm at the top end so it can be fitted to my
machine instead of my 600W Bosch router. Both the bearing and rings where
glued to the shaft with loctite and will be hard to replace without
destroying them. But why would you replace them if they aren't broken.

I put a 6mm endmill in a collet and put a dial indicator on the cylindrical
shaft of the endmill and the needle stayed within 0.01mm when the spindle
was turned. (That's ~0.0004") Is that OK or will I spend all my money buying
new endmills since they'll wear out due to runout?

I'll take some more photos of it mounted on the machine this weekend.

/Henrik.

PS. If someone could upload the pic's to Yahoo for me that would be great!
Or tell me where the heck the upload button has gone.
