VHD and welding

Will it hurt to weld on the machine with a vhd the power cable will
be Disconnected from the source. I have to do some welding for
repairs on a CnC Rotary bender that I'm Building And hoped I would
not have to unwire every thing. The welding process will be stick but
on a tig machine using DC reversed. Thanks For any Help
