Like everyone Denford can be both very helpful and unhelpful
depending on their mood and who you talk to.

My advice would be to start again as suggested by Terry, strip down
remove the old and replace with a good retrofit. Mach 2 sounds good
but being a lathe you need to watch the threading issues. I, like
many others in the UK have done this with a Denford Starturn,
keeping the driver boards (X and Y) and the spindle controller, and
it works fine. You will probabally find many of the boards
reuseable if not Geckos are quite cheap.
