I think the question should be how accurate is it as most of them last
pretty well. I have tried several low end vises, and have settled on
the little Sherline vise for about $65. It pulls down as you mentioned
and both of mine will read zero across the face. You do have to be
careful with the toggle bolt if incorrectly tightened it can gouge the
table.
