Techno 4- Axis SD Motherboard

I'm converting an old Techno Isel router over to CNC Pro. Has anyone
converted a Techno SD motherboard over to straight step and direction
inputs and skipped the PCMAC controller? The motherboard is set up to
take step and direction inputs, but the pin outs on the connector has
been a little hard to decipher. Any comments or suggestions?
