Drill Mill Conversion Recommendations

I purchased a Tong Yong Drill-Mill from Lathemasters last year with
the intent to convert to CNC. Unfortunately, life got in the way of
the conversion. I now have time. It has been a long time since I
visited this group. I am wondering if anyone could give me
recommendations on the following components:

1)Servo Driver? Gecko 320 looks good as I recall.
2)Servo Motors with encoders? The weight of the Gearhead (z-motion)
is considerable on this drill mill.
3)Precision Ground Ball Screws or rolled (Pitch and diameter)?
4)Anti-backlash ball nuts?
5)Direct Drive Coupler--do helical couplers work for this?
6)Software--Mach2 seems like a good package.
