[CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Lead nut slop

Is there a better material for lead screw nuts than Brass?
I have on carrage that now has 3/32" of play in the lead carrage nut.
How can I fix this. Also my lead screws feel rough and one is really bad.
May be why I have the play now.
What should I do?
