Yep, you might want longer ones, though. The verticals and
horizontals are a bit different, horizontals being built more like
calipers, the vertical's electronics more like quill readouts.

yes, several have done that, if the gadget has the requisite data port
(ought to be mentioned). There are schematics, and
www.littlemachineshop.com has the cables.

I have a project like that in the works, ought to be done later this
summer. I'm rolling my own from scratch (display electronics, etc) so
it'll be a while.
