Pulse width suggestions and other Powermax II info

I am looking for someone who can suggest a reasonable pulse width to
use with my powermax II steppers. They are model:
P22-NRXC-LDN-NS-00
I am currently running them at 1.55a in serial bipolar on my Xylotex 3
axis board.
They were originally skipping steps, at low pulse width in the defualt
config files, and I have since (through trial and error) found them to
run much smoother and not skip nearly as many (if any) steps as
before. It started off at 2 I believe. I moved to 20 right away
which worked ok, but I have had the best luck with a pulse width of
50. What I am looking for is someone who can suggest a setup for me
that is specific to these motors, so they can perform at optimum
performance. I am not looking for super torque or super speed, just
somewhere nice in the middle.
Other things that would be nice to know are a good maxspeed,
startspeed, accelleration, and any other info specific to these motors.
Also If anyone has any suggestions on better ways to wire these with
my setup (xylotex has 2.5a/phase max) I am certainly open to that!
Is it just me, or is the info on these motors pretty scarece?
Thanks for any help!
