The name of the FIRM is "Servomotor" or something with "Servo-" in the name.
They make ready-t0-bolt-on and use servos for power-assisted moving of the
axis-screws on such as the Bridgeports an knock-offs.
The cranking of the KNEE two or more inches at a time is a bit of a chore, so
I ordered one of those "Servo-" machines straightaway, and it has been
WONDERFUL.
I asked for and received a schematic for the speed-control for that (it can
be set for slow "feed-rate" for stock-removal), as I thought I might one day
consider another pair for the X- and Y- screws (they make three versions for
those three axes), but, well, never happened. HOWEVER, now with the Gecko "servo
drives", It seems this is plausible! ANY tool- or machine-shop-accessory
vendor would have those "Servo- machines", and probaby less costly chinese
knock-offs, as well, though I wouldn't even want to join in the debate on the value
saved, with such.
The advantage of these is that it comes with all the pre-machined fittings
that just "pop right in", and power-supply, fuze, line-cord, cot and beer-cooler
. . . Well, YOU know what I mean!
