Mini-Lathe CNC conversion question

Hi again,
I am also thinking of converting my Mini-Lathe to CNC
now that I have it all tightened up. I looked at some of
the basic conversion kits, most of which have 80-120oz/in.
drives and have been told that these will not be sufficient
for this little lathe. Maybe 200oz/in would be minimum
rating even if I gear reduce them 3:1?
Also, a typical driver capable of 3ampere would be insufficient
for a typical 200oz/in drive?
Thanks again,
Tad
