Price is the big difference, single-phase being higher priced. The lines
supplying the current will probably have to be 30% to 50% bigger area
than 3-phase wires. If you can get the same frame size & style, it
should work. Check the shaft dia. and extension. You may have to develop
some kind of circuit to do the reversing.
