From memory(so don't hold me to it) there are lamops which are designed
specifically for DC, but this is because DC is actually harder on the lamp
in terms of life, etc. AC is the usual assumption with lamps, and is the way
they are rated, unless specifically called out otherwise.
From what I remember, DC lamps(such as for use in a car) typically have
short, fat` filaments, but this may also be a vibration issue.
