boeing surplus cnc finds!

Went to boeing surplus today and picked up a brand new 2" diameter 9
foot long precision ground ballscrew and ballnut for $125! I can
just see that large gantry taking shape now :-) Chain drive idea is
out the door!

Also, there is a small complete nema 34 stepper gantry in the tool
area, forget what manufacturer. It looks like it has about 18" x 16"
x 6" or so travel and comes with a porter cable router. It has a
controller and all the cables, but I don't know if there is any doc.
It is priced at $800 right now, but perhaps it will go down in price
in the next few days. The ballscrew was marked down from $250.
