I was doing some snooping around on the internet and found this
Kentech site.

Anybody familiar with this software? Is this similar to what Ron and
the others are undertaking?
While I am here, let me just say that this group has been a great
source of help to me as I work my way through a CNC conversion. I am
converting my J head Bridgeport. The nema 43 steppers are mounted on
3 axis,so far. I decided to feed the knee, but will probably mount a
stepper on the quill, as well, for doing operations that require
faster feed rates(drill cycles). My steppers are equipped with
encoders, they came out of some robots. Will they be of any use? Any
closed loop stepper programs out there? I already have a 2 axis DRO
installed and a digital caliper mounted for the z axis so I don't
need them for that purpose.
I am very interested in your software recommendations. This
conversational idea sounds great since I am new to CNC. I am one of
the old hand crankers. And cost is a big factor with me. Ebay
purchased stepper motors,driver kits from Australia,etc. I don't have
the big bucks to spend on software. I will most likely start with
Stepster. That is what I am using to test the motors and drives. But
it seems to require the same settings for all the motors and that
knee feed motor may slow everything down. I am afraid that EMC might
be a bit mind boggling for me to get up and running. Ron, want to try
your existing progam on a complete CNC novice?
