Stepper help - info please

I have just assassinated an old LaserJet lllp.

The stepper is a Japan Servo KP6AP8-703 and what appears to be the driver is
an ECN1310SP1.

Has anyone any idea what type of stepper this is and/or any info on this
setup. Is it any good for motion control experiments from my parallel port?

I want to start out small here and learn some before I go buying serious
stuff for my mill.
