Hi
I have a BP clone with an old Crusader II control that I converted over to Rutex R991H 0-10v drives. Im running Mach2
First off let me say I love the drives. I used the rutex motherboard and relay board and this made the install a snap
The machine runs well but I know the drives are not tuned properly. Ive read the tuning docs from rutex many times and cant seem to get my arms around it. The tuning directions seem to written for people who already know how to do it. Also I think they apply more to the R990 drives. I emailed Vlad and got this reply
"Hi Derek, I hope you had bit of success by now... If not, try different tuning for drives. Start with setting the Ki to zero and then bit of Kp and Kd- do not overdump it. Make sure that you'll get a single overshoot somewhere between 50-200 steps. Regards vh "
Ok good info but what the heck is a bit? 100? 500?
The tuning program in mach2 works no problem.
Is there anyone out there with experience tuning 991 drives who could give me a few pointers. Im not looking for you to write a whole book on the subject just to answer a few specific questions.
Thanks
Derek
