Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Ends on Ball Screws

Hi all,

I'm contemplating the best way to install a ball screw.

It appears that I could make an end for the ball screw by boring a
hole and pressing a sleave over the end of the screw. Possibly
welding them together.

The sleve would extend a few inches for mounting in a bearing block.

Am I off target ? will it a turned end work well ? I'm not sure
how to indicate the shaft.

Also, will a block with a bore and a couple opposing angular contact
bearings be good enough ?

I'm leaning towards 5/8 ball screw for a 1 meter axis on a router.
