I live in the same area as Progressive Logic and picked up some of the
conversion kits from him about 1-1/2 years ago. I was very impressed with
the ease of making my Sherline mill CNC using these kits and I really liked
the idea that I did not have to drill any extra holes in the mill. On my
kits one of the mounting holes was drilled off center so the straight line
on the mounting bracket sat at a kilter to the table. It did not effect
function in the least, but visually it bothered me. I had talked at length
about his drive and software and at that point it was not a step and
direction if I remember correctly. The major short coming in my eyes is that
his software is 2-1/2D. After using Vector with it's pocket and profile
functions I definitely would not want to use a package that makes me
manually enter every step down in depth.
