I beleive they are functionally the same. It is just the r2000 series
are set up to be a integrated type component style which would give you
a more compact and neat setup. The r9x series must be hard wired to a
breakout board of some type. The r9x series does have it's own
motherboard setup, but it is limited to use with the parralel port only,
while the r2000 mb has SPI included (Serial port interface). You can
however get a SPI for the r9x series the r900 board, but it is another
hard wire setup.
