EMC E-Stop and stepper machine setup

OK, I have finally de-lurked, but have been following this group since
digest #7.

First off, I want to thank Tim Goldstein's RTLinux Setup script and
install instructions. I probably would not have bother to do it without
that script!

Ok, now here is the problem. I have everything installed to the letter
of Tim's script. RT Linux works and so does EMC. The problem is that
I cannot get the machine out of E-stop to actually bitblast the // port.

Is there a known "working" emc.ini script that I can look at. I am
running the latest EMC release and will be driving a stepper motor
machine with this computer (eventually). I want to avoid the 2 parallel
port version/driver if I can.

I know Tim had a working .ini file on his website, but I cannot seem to
locate it anymore. BTW, I get this in digest format, so feel free to
use my email address
mailto://bwclark@...
if you can/would send me a working .ini file.

Also, what output driver is best for steppers. I remember hearing
something about using freqmod.o but what is the difference between this
one and stepper.o (or was it stepmod.o). Also, for a single parallel
port, what IO.o is used?

Lastly, has anybody (besides me) given though to a phase driver for
EMC instead of just step/direction? Why you ask? Well, so people who
have say, a stock MaxNC 10 mill, could also use EMC with their machine.
I mean, if EMC wants more "exposure" why not go after a machine with a
hugh installed base. Just a thought.

Thanks in advance,
Bruce Clark

PS Here is a project I am working on...
