Mechanical Power Supply?

Somewhat off the wall question here. If you had 'big' DC motor that
operated at the same voltage as your servos and normally required the
same current as all your servos together could you use it as
generator to supply power for the servos? Would it have any
advantages in producing 'cleaner' power that wouldn't need as much
filtering. Just curious.
