Looking fort signal converter

Group,
I am looking for a signal converter to change sinusoidal output from
glass scales to quadrature signal. I now that mitutoyo makes them
(see http://www.mitutoyo.com/catalog/pdf/I-11-12.pdf) but cost is a
little higher than I want to pay. Does anybody have lower cost
substitute or information were I can find them and/or build them?
