Inductor with SCR controller

Hi all,
I was able to find a treadmill with motor and SCR controller.
Magnetic Electronics Inc. MAG-MC-30, but nothing turns up on Google.
Unfortunately, it was just a bag of parts so I don't know where all
the bits go.
There is a SCR driver board (MAG-MC-30), has AC inputs, motor outputs
(2) and three pins, two marked speedpot, and the third appears to be
the wiper.
There is a second board, a power board that has a transformer and
relay and multi pin connector that goes to the main logic board.
There is a 3 wire cable labeled speed pot. Only thing is that the
three wires feed a 4N33 opto isolator. That would indicate to me a
pulse generated speed adjustment and not a potentiometer.
I figure I can figure that out by trial and error.
Even if I blow up the SCR, the motor is great and I already have a
couple Gecko 320's.
In the box was an inductor. at first glance I thought it was a
transformer, but it is almost 3 inches on each side. Only two wires.
My question is where to put that in the circuit ?
Does that go between the SCR controller and the motor ? The SCR has
2 pins marked AC1 and AC2, it has another 2 pins marked A+ and A-, I
assume for Armature + and Armature - there is no apparent AC ground
or motor field connections.
Any ideas ?
Dave
