The problem with thermistors is the heat. you should not solder them
as the heating will cause problem over time. May be a loooong time,
but still not optimum.

The potential relay is a common unit so between the two, you should
be able to use common technology.

When I started my power supply, I started with Mariss's E-Stop
circuit and added some features I thought would be useful. Then
started to lay it out on a PCB, but soon realized that much of it can
be wired directly to screw terminals and such.

As for the PWM idea, I just tossed out the other idea for those who
like making things slightly different.
