What would you do !

Decision time I have a step motor controlled video cmm made by Nikon they dont want to talk to me
its two old, bought cheap, but 10 years ago it was 100 grand ! It was bought missing
most cables the measurement computer is ok and will measure the object on the
field of view. No cables for stepper motors or joystick or dro. Is there a way to make
cables up with no info avail on origionals ? 8 or 10 required. I dont see this getting
done ! Any one have a ideal for stand alone 4 axis control with joystick under $$$ a
fortune. Or maybe a low cost 4 axis cnc controller with software that could be used
as the Dro also . small motors around 50 oz/in size 23 would be about right , So in
a perfect world I need a 4 axis contoller ( focus,zoom, x,y stage) DRO, and jog
pendant or joystick any ideals !
