We just had an inquiry from an individual that wanted to do pocketing type of moves on a plotter. This is often done using the windows printer drivers for plotters. like the HP 7475a, etc. His problem was that 1) he had trouble drawing the pocketed tool path and 2) he found it impossible to control the direction and order of the cutting.
Vector CAD has this specific capability. It will print to a plotter in the exact order and direction that the geometry is selected. It will also do this when saving a DXF file. If you are trying to run a CNC machine using an (usually free feature on many of the low cost PC controller programs ) hpgl or DXF file as the input, Vector is one of the few CAD programs that can order these files correctly. It is also availabel at a lower price is purchased as a Cad only license.
