Interesting. Wonder just how reliable they are. What led me to find this
rig was looking at pictures of the Omniturn solid state disk drive,
which they sell for $350. I saw Sandisk on the drive, and while looking
on ebay, I found this CF/IDE adapter. Wouldn't a full on solid state
drive also be flash memory? Or perhaps they incorporate better quality
silicon and maybe even bad sector mapping? Can't imagine Omniturn
selling solid state drives for a CNC control if there was a huge issue
with reliability.

Overall, I bet even in heavy use, I'd only be looking at a couple write
cycles a day. Still, perhaps I'd be better off getting one of the disk
bay units that can be set as slave, and simply use it for backups...
