It would seem to have a problem. It will work well against a vertical
surface as shown. There is an angle perhaps around 45 degrees
where the ball will not be moved. It would be of no use on a horizontal
surface. The beauty of the Renishaw system with the 6 balls and 3
pins is that it can detect surfaces at any angle.
